Disclosure: We received some of these amazing toys in exchange for inclusion in this roundup. This post also includes affiliate links. As always, if we don’t love them, I don’t share it!
I must admit, I gotta give the marketing companies for some of the children toy companies a lot credit. They did a good job roping in my girls this year. The wishlists are long I tell you! We have 3 months of pure solid gifting as November is Zoe’s birthday, then Christmas and then Ava’s Birthday, so the girls hold it all in for those 3 months and then we are good for the year!
How do you decide what amazing toys to buy and which to pass on? Some of the best toys we have are ones we’ve seen in action first hand from friends’ children or the ones where we’ve spent time researching and reading the reviews. We’ve all purchased a toy for our kid only to realize it doesn’t work the way it shows or is a bit too difficult for our child.
So this year, I’m sharing with you 5 of our top tried and true amazing toys for girls under 5 years old.
We got this mid-summer for the girls, mainly Zoe to play with and she completely adores it! With so many fun songs, videos and games to play, we’ve watched her vocabulary and independence grow. Read the full review here
We got this one for Zoe’s 4th Birthday and she hasn’t put it down since. While I do find some of the games on the camera a bit advanced for her, she still loves to try and hey practice makes perfect!
Zoe has attended most of the photo shoots that I do for Captured In Squares and thus has developed a little love for styling and photography herself. This camera is the perfect way for her to play and explore her own creativity with videos and photos by adding fun stickers and using creative filters. The two girls have even partnered up to create fun animated movies.
Best part, I can upload everything to my computer and send to family and friends! This camera great way to start a love of photography early and inspire her to find the beauty that surrounds her!
Another item that we had gotten for Zoe for her birthday were 4 of the 5 Talkative Plush Sunny Bunnies. Sunny Bunnies is a short show on Family Jr. which showcases the fun adventures these 5 cute little bunnies go on. Press the bunny’s belly to hear them make unique and silly sounds. These chatterboxes are ready for fun and excitement! This was the first instance where I saw Zoe really coming into her own sense of humor and truly getting the joke. See more on the Funrise Website!
Still looking for amazing toys? We’re not done yet!!
If you’ve followed along with our social feeds for a while, Zoe has a deep love for horses. When Spirit came out on Netflix, it was on repeat in the house. I love that Playmobil came out with the Spirit line as I find the Playmobil kits a bit easier for Zoe to build on her own, even though this one definitely took an adult’s help! Seeing Zoe set up the furniture in the house and create little adventures for Lucky and Spirit to go on through not only the playhouse but our house too!
This one is amazing! Though it is big, it is hours and honestly, I mean hours of colouring fun! My best friend had gotten one for her daughter and after many playdates with the kids colouring, we had to get one for Zoe and with our luck, they were on sale!
