Creating for Conservation Vancouver Zoo

This month, the Greater Vancouver Zoo is raising awareness for animal conservation initiatives in an event called Create for Conservation.  The Greater Vancouver Zoo is calling all Lego Enthusiasts to participate in Create for Conservation by creating sculptures on the theme of animal conservation. The sculptures are displayed for everyone to enjoy and additionally, they will then be judged by a panel for exciting prizes!

Create for Conservation encourages young and old to help raise money for the conservation efforts by the Greater Vancouver Zoo. Furthermore, conservation helps endangered species at home as well as species endangered abroad.

Create for Conservation will take place on Saturday July 30th from 8:30am 7pm at the Greater Vancouver Zoo. Proceeds from the event will go to conservation efforts supported by the Zoo. Submit your LEGO animal conservation sculpture to win great prizes and take in the sights and sounds of the zoo. To register, please go to the Greater Vancouver Zoo website!

Our trip last week, to the Zoo was a first for the entire family. We are thankful to have such a beautiful place so close by for the girls to learn more about animals and see them first hand.  I’ve put together a lovely video of our trip to the Zoo.  We were lucky enough to get a close up view of Mr. Lion’s two very sharp front teeth!

Not only can you keep up to date by following the Greater Vancouver Zoo by visiting their Facebook page. Lastly, you can also tweet with them on twitter at @GVZooChat.

We hope to you have a chance to check out Create for Conservation at the Greater Vancouver Zoo, as getting the children involved first hand is the best way to learn and will leave our children with lasting memories of love and laughter!
