Growing up in Saskatchewan, the arrival of BC Tree Fruits was the highlight of the summer. The trucks would roll in selling fresh fruit like BC Tree Fruits Cherries grown in the Okanagan Valley. Now that I am a BC resident, we cannot get enough of these premium, delicious Cherries!
Cherries are easily the perfect summer snack, they are delicious, healthy and convenient. They are also incredibly easy to add to many of your favourite recipes. With BC Tree Fruits Cherries being in season for only 4-5 weeks from June-August, we enjoy these delicious cherries on repeat all day, every day!
Our family is passionate about supporting our Canadian economy. Even more so when it’s local to BC! Which is exactly why we always look for the leaf. That leaf tells us that we’re getting fresh, local cherries from BC Tree Fruits.
The BC Tree Fruits leaf guarantees food grown close to home using natural and sustainable methods.
Aside from a good Cherry Pie, I have a bunch of cherry recipes under my belt. I love experimenting with flavours and cherries are a delicious way to playdelicious way to play. One of my personal favourites is our Dark Chocolate Cherry Bark with Sea Salt.
The Dark Chocolate flirts with the sweet/tart side of the delicious premium Okanagan-grown cherries. While the sea salt helps marry all the flavours together. Obviously, these BC Tree Fruits Cherries is the main component to making this recipe work and knowing that they are locally grown, and fresh, make this recipe a go-to every time! With cherries in season right NOW, it’s the perfect time to pick up a package of BC Tree Fruits cherries from your local grocery store and create this recipe for some summer fun.
