School is just around the corner and we’ve been chatting with my youngest daughter (age 5) Zoe about lunchtime. Thankfully, our older daughter Ava (age 11) offered up some helpful BTS Lunch Tips to help ease Zoe’s mind. Now, I like to consider myself a veteran in the back to school department! Ava’s going into grade 5 this September so it’s safe to say we’ve done this a time or two! However, this year looks a bit different, as Miss Zoe will be joining Ava at school as she starts kindergarten! Ava couldn’t resist sharing these Helpful BTS Lunch Tips with Zoe to get her started on the right foot!
We’ve been through all the struggles when it comes time to packing lunches, snacks and everything in between. From half-eaten lunches, lost containers, right down to the lunchtime trades, we’ve been through it all! Thankfully Ava has always been a pretty good eater however, it’s Miss Zoe that stresses me a little in the lunch department.
Zoe is a bento style meal kind of girl! She likes to keep it simple and generally sticks to the things that she likes! After watching Ava pack her lunch, she had to have Welch’s® Fruit Snacks in her lunches too. As they are made with real fruit, this is one snack this mama can really get behind!
As a veteran school lunch making mama, one of the most helpful BTS lunch tips that I can give you is to leave room for compromise. Eating the same thing every single day isn’t fun and someone at school is going to have something tastier, so packing something that tastes good and contains natural flavors and colors like Welch’s Fruit Snacks will alleviate some of that morning stress. Did we mention fruit is the 1st ingredient?
With these helpful BTS lunch tips from her big sis and Welch’s Fruit Snacks as our go-to, I just know this transition is going to be easy for us all!
- “Pack your lunch carefully”
Ava definitely has a little bit of type A in her. All of her things have a place in her lunch box. She may have gotten that from her mama but the shuffle of getting to school and a poorly packed lunch can make for a bruised apple! So, Ava recommends finding a place for each item that doesn’t allow them to move around too much so everything stays in place!
2. “Leave your favourite snack for last!”
She learned this lesson early; always leave your favorite snack for last! “You’re going to want to eat the Welch’s Fruit Snacks first, but if you leave them for last, you’ll be happy you waited since they’re the best snack!” Both of my girls love Welch’s Fruit Snacks in the Mixed Fruit variety so much. Zoe and Ava both agree that they’re their favorite part of their lunch time!
From one veteran lunch eater to the rookie, these helpful BTS lunch tips are worth their weight in gold!
Ava knows her way around packing her lunch and this mama learned early that packing Welch’s Fruit Snacks is one of the best compromises you can make. The kids love them and with fruit as the first ingredient, how do you say no?
