Growing up in Saskatoon meant limited palette in terms of experiencing authentic foods. My dad was very much a meat and potatoes kind of guy so going for authentic foods was out of the question. Now if we had an authentic italian restaurant like Gusto Di Quattro in Saskatoon, I could almost guarantee we would have visited weekly!

Moving out to Vancouver in 2006 was quite the culinary experience for this small city gal. I’m still finding these hidden spots in and around the lower mainland, even now almost 10 years later.  Recently, I had the honour of attending a fantastic authentic italian meal at Gusto di Quattro.  Easily one of the most amazing little gems the North Shore has to offer! How have I not found this place sooner?

Italian Gem - Gusto Di Quattro MeatballsWe started off our meal with an Antipasto platter and if we’re being honest here, it was my first time trying antipasto! How have I never experienced this before?  The Insalata Caprese and the Radicchio Bocconcini were probably my favourite part of the Antipasto platter.  I feel silly for not having eaten Antipasto sooner!

If I wasn’t impressed after that, we then dined on the most delectable pasta I’ve had to date.  Fettuccine Con Funghi, Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti Quattro, as they were placed on the table the camera’s came out as they not only smelled beautifully but the appearance was heavenly! The Spaghetti Quattro has one spicy kick to it that will clear out your sinus and leave you craving more, however my favourite was easily was the Fettuccine Con Funghi. Mushrooms are not welcomed in my home by the rest of the family so this was a real treat for me!

Finished off with this beautiful piece of Tirimisu  I’d say this was hands down one of the most delicious meals I’ve had in a long time!  Adding to the entire experience, the staff was hospitable, friendly and had a real joy for the jobs, the restaurant, their fellow staff and the customers. The restaurant decor was family oriented, warm, welcoming, and the menu prices are fair and reasonably priced. Did I mention Monday and Tuesday is $10 pasta?!Italian Gem Gusto Di Quattro Tirimiso

With the quaint italian atmosphere of the Lonsdale Quay, the gorgeous decor, mouthwatering menu, devoted staff and beautifully delicious foods, Gusto Di Quattro is a MUST DINE location!  Sound heavenly? I thought so, perhaps you’d LOVE to experience it yourself? My new friends at Gusto Di Quattro are giving away a complimentary 3 Course Dinner for Two  for one lucky reader. Must be 19 years or older and a resident of the Greater Vancouver area.
