Vancouver Christmas Market Has A New Home!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, I’m just kidding! However,  as soon as this email came across our inbox, a little Christmas spirit swept over me! One of my favourite things to do at Christmas time is attend the Vancouver Christmas Market.  This year we will be enjoying the infamous Mulled Wine, the beautiful Carousel and the delicious food from the Vancouver Christmas Market’s new home!

The 7th Annual Vancouver Christmas Market is relocating from it’s original site at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza to Jack Poole Plaza (at the Olympic Cauldron). This new location for the 7th year affords us more than 50,000 square feet of space and over 70 huts of Christmasy goodness!  Running from November 26th to December 30, 2016, this yuletide celebration is the place to be this holiday season!

We go every year, no matter what is going on in our lives, the Vancouver Christmas Market has a special place in our heart. No matter what is going on in our lives, attending this market allows us to set it all aside and fully submerse yourself in the Christmas spirit!  You can check out last years blog HERE! I was over the moon to take both my girls and now with Zoe another year older and much more expressive and interactive, this year is going to be amazing!

Among this year’s expanded highlights will be Canada’s first-ever Christmas Pyramid: A 23-foot tall structure adorned with angels representing various aspects of European culture. Designed locally by architect Jordan Kutev, the magical sculpture rotates via a propeller at its summit and plays music from various regions. Further festive additions this year include an enclosed Alpine Haus tent and seating area, designed to accommodate more than 250 people while offering breathtaking views of the North Shore.

Visitors can anticipate indulging in the market’s signature array of mouth-watering delectables, including Glühwein (a hot-spiced mulled wine), Bratwurst, Gulasch, Spätzle, and much more.  In total, the market will boast more than 22 food and drink huts –12 of which will appear for the first time in 2016.  Visitors can wander throughout the market’s quaint twinkling pathways of huts, discovering lovingly crafted, one-of-a-kind gifts and treasures that cry out to be slipped into stockings and placed under Christmas trees. This new home promises to be everything the Vancouver Christmas Market needed!
