Blogging vs Vlogging Giveaway

For the last few months, I’ve been looking into perhaps starting to Vlog.  For those of you who are not familiar with a Vlog, it’s a video blog.  So rather than sit and have to read an entire blog post  which we all know can be long-winded, you’d see my lovely face talking to you! I’ve been giving it a lot of thought and now I’d like to know your thoughts and as a Thank you, I will be having a Giveaway with my online store!

The prize… your choice of anything from my online store! A custom dream catcher.. any size or how about a Dream Catcher necklace.  Perhaps you’d like to go more edgy and go for the other jewelry… your choice! Winner will have 24hrs to claim prize.

All I need from you is your opinion, would you rather read a blog or watch a vlog? Comment on this blog post and let me know  which you prefer… oh and I did I mention, I will have a really cute co-host?!

My husband has been trying to convince me that a Vlog is the way to go and it’d make it so much easier for me to do updates. I never imagined that he would be right (please don’t tell him that I said that) but with the arrival of my new co-host Miss Zoe, I never imagined how hard it would be to sit down and type out a blog post.

So to recap the Giveaway,  all you have to do is be Canadian, let me know Blog or Vlog by commenting on this post and one lucky person will win an item of their choice from my online store.  Contest will start at 1:00 pm PST on December 8th and will run for one week, so ending on December 15th at 1pm PST. For an additional entry find the image above on my @vancitymommyd Instagram account and leave a comment on that post as well! One entry either method per person!

I will be looking at making the change for the New Year.  2015 promises to be full of growth, opportunity, clarity and collaborations with some amazing local companies. Thank you again for your continued support and GOOD LUCK!!

I think a mix. I know that’s an annoying answer, but I think that different parts of ones personality comes out in video then vs writing. At least it dies for me. I feel like I’m more reserved on video and more cheeky when I write. So I like the writing, but everyone also wants to see your co-host 🙂

I agree.. I know there will probably be certain topics that I’d prefer to write, so I don’t know if I’d ever go completely one way over the other but maybe lean more towards one side than the other?

      it’s cause of the co-host isn’t it??

Blogs I find more informative and have that official feeling. Vlogs have more personality and can show off your sence of style and humour easily.
They are both great options, and I like them equally for different reasons. I love reading reviews on products, recipes, etc but also love watching people sing, makeup tutorials, and show off their littles in real life situations 🙂

Those are all great points Sarah and thanks for the comment on Instagram as well!

    Janette,

My personal opinion is (mostly) Vlogging. Especially since, you are so engaging and if you are giving a product review as you have in the past (i.e.. with the mascara you can show the whole process not just a before and after picture). Maybe for longer reviews you could Blog (ie. a trade show where you visited many vendors). I personally find, I don’t have the time usually to sit down and read or catch up on the posts either. Mom life is busy from the day they are born until well I guess forever!!! I think a combo would be good, everyday life and single product reviews Vlogg, and maybe a longer Blog when necessary. Helps you save time too, once your baby turns into a toddler, Blogging will be almost impossible!

I would love to see you make a blog, especially if there will be a cute co-host 😉

Janette I love both! But maybe prefer Vlog! Whichever you decide will be Awesome as usual!

Both are great…. I would mix it up! Vlogging sounds good but once your cutie patutie gets bigger it might get harder to talk and have baby in the background? Looking forward to what ever you come up with tho!! 😀
